NOON MEETINGS
We believe an informed public is essential to safeguarding the environment. To that end, we have held public meetings almost every week for 30 years to provide the public an opportunity to hear experts, political candidates and address local, regional and national environmental issues. We currently hold noon meetings at the Ironhorse Restaurant the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of each month, running September through June. Check our home page under Upcoming Events for information on upcoming meetings, or call the office at 667-9093, or email us at kea at kealliance.org.
Community Roots
At a point in just about every Gardner's growing season, they find that they are producing food faster than they get it consumed and/or preserved. Community Roots is a local volunteer-based program that is setup to assist you in delivering your surplus produce to food assistance fcilities. In doing so, we are able to promote better eating habits, reduce food miles, and help our community become more self-sufficient.
Harmony Gardens
--The Garden Network
“Tell me and I forget, teach me and I remember,
involve me and I learn.” Benjamin Franklin
The Garden Network, a curriculum on this website, developed through funding support from New Priorities Foundation for KEA's Harmony Gardens program. The Garden Network provides a one-stop-shop for teachers and other interested adults seeking information about establishing, funding, and maintaining a children’s garden. It is designed to walk you through the organizational aspects of a gardening program, the process of getting started and continuing, and allowing for success each step of the way.
Newsletters
We keep our ears to the ground and our eyes on the future.
KEA publishes a quarterly newsletter -- Perspectives. You will find the current issue here, as well as archived issues.
