Here are just a few of the ways we engage in green practices:

• All printed materials and paper are either 100% post-consumer recycled, or 35% post-consumer recycled, including envelopes.

• We reuse white paper in our copier/printers.

• We recycle printer cartridges

• When we print documents we print double-sided.

• We try to keep our lights off during the day -- it's nice and bright in here!

• We turn our computers and printers off at the end of the day -- it saves more energy than sleep mode.

• We often use eco-friendly supplies.

• We use reusable bags instead of paper or plastic bags.

• We don't use plastic utensils.

• We don't drink from plastic cups.

• We use water bottles made out of recycled plastic or stainless steel.

• We recycle cans, plastics, corrugated, newsprint, and white paper.

• We recycle used batteries.

• We buy local -- saves transportation costs and supports the local economy.

• We buy our supplies from green businesses (if available).  Check out www.treecycle.com

• We use compact fluorescent lighting, energy star rated.

By acting locally, we at KEA are putting our best foot forward in the hopes that our green practices will inspire other small businesses.
