Noon Lunch Meeting

When thinking about the long history of our organization, it is probably one of our proudest and most enduring achievements. For more than 37 years now, Kootenai Environmental Alliance has hosted speakers and films and debates and discussions on environmental topics over lunch at the Iron Horse on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month.

After taking the summer off, the meetings are set to begin again Thursday, September 3rd at noon with David Stephenson, Idaho Dept of Lands.

David will give a presentation regarding the Urban Tree Canopy and how it affects stormwater, water quality, air quality, carbon mitigation ad energy conservation. IDL has begun this project by modeling 118 square miles in North Idaho which overlies the Spokane Valley-Rathdrum Prairie Aquifer as "sensitive resource aquifer" and the sole-source of drinking water for half a million people.
