    • Files can be requested and copied at the Planning Department.
    • Written comments must be received ten days prior to the hearing date.
    • Comments can be turned in at the hearing.
    • Public testimony is usually limited to three minutes.

Case No. ZON08-0012, a request by William Bishop representing Stimson Lumber Company to change the zoning classification on approx 855 acres from Rural to Agricultural suburban. This application comes with a Conditional Zoning Development Agreement. This Agreement would require the applicant to develop the 855 acres together with an adjoining 647+/- acres as a Planned Unit Development (PUD). The PUD would consist of a golf course, no more than 477 single-family lots, and approx 539 acres of dedicated open space on the 1500+/- acre site. The site is located on the east side of Good Hope Road and south of Twete Road approx one mile south of Hwy 54.

Case No. CUP08-0019, a request by Robert and Melanie Smith for a Conditional Use Permit for a Commercial Resort on a portion of an approx 20 acre parcel in the Rural zone to establish a low impact campground. The site is located at 11124 E Fernan Lake Rd., approx 5.3 miles up Fernan Lake Road from I-90, on the right side of the road.

Case No. ZON08-0007, a request by Wallace Pratt to change the zoning classification of three parcels, consisting of 88 acres from Agricultural to Rural. The site is located on the north and south side of Lay Lane and the east and west side of Medimont Rd. The Hearing Examiner heard this request on Sep 4, 2008 and Oct 2, 2008 and recommended approval.

10:00 AM

Case No. ZON08-0011, a request by Nate and Kym Nagel to change the zoning classification on approx 6.7 acres from Agricultural Suburban to Comercial. The site is located on the northwest corner of Chase Road and Hwy 53. The hearing examiner heard this request on Nov 6, 2008 and an recommended approval.

Case No. CUP08-0008, a request by Bruce Christensen for a Conditional Use Permit for a Private (non-profit) Resort to permit the proposed expansion of the existing Cam MiVoden. The proposed expansion includes, but is not necessarily limited to increase in the total capacity of the camp, relocation of recreational vehicle sites, addition of duplex cabins, additional staff residences. The project sits on the east side of Hayden Lake in the Mokins Bay area. The Hearing Examiner heard this request on September 18, 2008 and recommended approval.

Case No. CP-082-08, A PROPOSAL TO AMEND ALL CHAPTERS OF THE KOOTENAI COUNTY COMPREHENSIVE PLAN, Chapters of the Comprehensive Plan will be assigned to specific hearing dates, public testimony will only be accepted on the Chapters being discussed that day. The hearing schedule is as follows:

1.  December 1, 2008  at 3:00 PM, Natural Resources, Hazardous Areas, Community Design & Land Use (Note: There will be a dinner break at 5:30-6:00.)

Case No. S-863P-06, The Pines at Haydenwood, a request by Mitch Wright to create a 25 lot Conservation Design Subdivision on approx 204 acres in the Rural zone. The site is located on the south side of E. Hayden Lake Rd approx 6.25 miles from the intersection with E. Lancaster Rd. The Hearing Examiner heard this request on December 6, 2007, and recommended denial. Written comments must be received ten (10) days prior to the date of hearing.
