Kootenai County Unveils Comprehensive Plan
The Planning Commission has scheduled a review period, "road show" informational meetings and public hearings.
KOOTENAI COUNTY COMPREHENSIVE PLAN UPDATE
The draft Kootenai County Comprehensive Plan has been posted to the County web site, in its entirety.
The Planning Commission has scheduled public hearings at the Kootenai County Administration Building in Room 1AB for December 1st at 3:00 pm., December 2nd at 6:00 p.m., and December 3rd at 8:00 a.m. where citizens are invited to comment on the posted draft. Comments may be posted directly to the website, faxed to (208) 446-1071, e-mailed to mfricano@kcgov.us, or sent by postal mail to the Kootenai County Planning Department, P.O. Box 9000, Coeur d’ Alene, ID 83816. Written comments must be received by November 21st at 4:00 PM.
During the review period leading up to the December hearings, Commission members will be conducting “road show” informational meetings at four county locations. These meetings will answer questions about the current draft, continued citizen participation, and discuss the process for implementing the updated Comprehensive Plan through the adoption of new development regulations. The dates and locations for the four “road show” meetings are listed below.

October 27th---Athol Elementary, 6333 E. Menser Ave., Athol

October 29th---Mica Flats Grange, 7465 W. Kidd Island Rd., CDA

November 3rd--Clover Leaf Grange, N. 3232 McGuire Road, Post Falls

November 6th--Camp Easton, 23516 S. Hwy 97, Harrison
All of the meetings will begin at 6:00 PM. Citizens wishing to testify for the record about the plan should do so at the public hearings in December.
After the Planning and Zoning Commission holds public hearings and completes any amendments to the Plan, it will be forwarded to the Board of County Commissioners for their own set of hearings, which will be proceeded by a 60 day comment period.
